Some might it disturbing but I've been watching violent and action packed films since I was a kid. I guess stems from the days when most of the films we watched were those old war, sword or gunfighter classics. Anything from fist to firepower was what tuned us in. One of the most violent films that I ever watched was "Scarface". I remember the soundtrack was called "Push It To The Limit" by Paul Engamann.
The film was about a Cuban Immigrant named Tony Montana who rose from ranks of the drug trade and his violent fall from grace. There was a lot of profanity and violence in that film. The most violent scenes were when he was tied and his partner was cut in half with a chain saw and the last scene where he was pumped with coke in bloody shoot that resulted in his death. Many were appalled by the violence in film with some giving it negative ratings while giving it positive ratings. Despite the mixed reviews, it has endured and is now considered one of the best films ever made and to this day it is watched by a lot of people and its merchandise continues to sell.
Even to this day, it still shocks people when they it in its original form. Sure there are a lot of slasher and gory films out there but for me don't compare to this film. It really hits you bluntly cause you know thing like this really happen and it takes away that romantic notion that being a gangster is cool. They all a violent end. And this really brings that message home.
