Timeless Romance Classic: Somewhere In Time Movie Soundtrack

Although action and comedy films are the genres that stir my interest, there are times when a good romance film catches my attention.  There have been a a few that I have watched and recommended.  These are the type of romance films that stand the test of time.  One film that I have to admit is my favorite is the movie "Somewhere In Time".  The sound track alone always get my attention.

The film was about a playwright who was intrigued by a photograph of a women in a hotel that he was staying in.  As he researched about her, he finds himself falling in love with her.  Through a method of time travel, he is able to go back in time to meet her and the two fall for each other.  Just when things were going well, he is pulled back to present and is unable to return.  Because of that, he dies of a broken heart but is reunited with his love in the afterlife.

I cannot believe the film receive negative reviews from critics and did not do well in the box office. Yet it is now a cult classic and one of the most loved romantic films ever made.  I guess the critics were wrong about that one.  I have to admit I watch this every time they show it on cable.  It's a timeless classic that never grows old and always touches the heart of its viewers.

Better Luck Next Time: Bye Bye Love By The Everly Brothers

Well February is now about to end.  Tomorrow is the last day and the month of romance will be officially over.  For those who got lucky, they are probably on cloud 9 or flying high with happiness.  Others are probably singing a different tune if they can sing a tune after getting dumped. One tune that's probably playing in their heads is the Everly Brothers' song "Bye, Bye Love".

We'd all be lying if we'd say we didn't get hurt when we get dumped.  It's a terrible feeling that leaves us empty and upset.  The worst part about it is when you're walking around oblivious while reality keeps dumping demands on you.  It's like a fighter who got rocked so hard, he's barely able to stand or can fall at any moment.  Sadly, some has to win and someone has to lose.

Well, that's a sad fact about love.  Still, like I said before love will come if you look hard enough. Don't lose hope and look harder.  The right person will come around so take comfort in that thought.  There's always a next time so keep your chin up and smile.

They Mean The World To Us: Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin By Martin Nievera

February is now drawing to a close.  This means the month of romance is now at an end.  For those who truly love, it will always go on.  This is true when the person they love is one that means the world to them.  They won't give up on them no matter what.  People who love like that remind me of the song "Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin" by Martin Nievera.

For people like this, it isn't just a fling.  You can bet that when they love someone, they're really mean it.  The choice is clear.  They need not look anymore.  Though the odds may be difficult, it doesn't matter to them.  For them, if the time is not right, they will wait because it's worth it.

It takes a lot to be this committed.  People like this will not be daunted because it means a lot to them.  Well, I say good luck to these.  No doubt they will go on no matter what.  This is because the person they love means the world to them.

When Two Old Acquaintances Meet: Sam By Olivia Newton John

Though I'm not a romantic, there are times when I remember some people whose company I enjoyed way back then.  The times I've spent with them were among the brightest moments of my life.  There were times when I bump into some of them when I least expected it.  When that happens, time just stops and we'd talk for a while about the good times and exchange information about how people we know are doing as well as how we'v been since we last met.  When I bump into an old friend or old acquaintance, the song "Sam" by Olivia Newton John comes to mind.

Like I said earlier, I had a few run-ins with some of my old friends.  I have to admit if I've had the choice I'd make it last longer.  I guess it's because time just stops and for a moment I'm back to being a 16 or 18 depending on when I had the pleasure of being in this person's company. More importantly, I have to admit certain feelings awake after seeing them because of how I felt about them back then.  I guess that's the reason why it's so hard to part ways because reality beckons us to move on.

You know I still can't believe that some people say this song was dedicated to a pet of hers that died. This song is much more than that.  I guess that's why I wonder about certain people who I want to see again whenever I hear this song being played.  I don't where they are but I wish them well and hope their doing okay.  It sure would be nice to see them again and relieve the good times even for just a moment.

There's Always A Part Of Them Inside You: Can't Stop Loving You By Steelheart

Whenever February rolls in, I keep remembering the first post I made on this blog.  It was about a girl I met at college that I had feelings for.  Though we never made and she got married,  I still think about her from time to time.  She still has a special place inside me and I treasure the times when we were together.  The fact that I still have fond memories of her reminds me of the song "Can't Stop Me Loving You" by Steelheart.

Man, bands like these who belt out the high notes and play a mean tune but still touch the sensitive side of a person.  Why she still lingers in my head is because I can't forget that smile that she flashes whenever she greets you.  She also had a way to brighten up your day with a pleasant conversation that you wish you go on and on with her.  My one regret was that I was never able to properly say goodbye to her.  Still, she'll always be special to me.

You win some you lose some they say.  I may have lost out on her but there's a part of her that will always remain with me.  I don't know where she is right now but I wish her all the best.  She helped brighten my life in college.  For that I am eternally grateful.

Love Always Finds A Way: Love Will Find A Way Pablo Cruise

Love is never easy.  A lot of times is a stiff competition where some win and someone loses out.  For those who lose out, it can hurt really deep.  Still, just because you lost the game at first, if you keep trying love will find you.  That's something I learned from the song "Love Will Find A Way" by Pablo Cruise.

I remember the time when my parents bought this and boy it was one of my favorite songs when I was growing up.  Apart from being a good song, it cheers you up during those dark times when you lose out on love. If let the music flow over you as you listen, you can almost swear the band is there playing front you trying to cheer you up.  It fills you with hope that one day it will happen and you'll find love with someone better.

Well for me, I'm not really looking for love right now. I'm happy with the love I get from my family.  Still, for those who feel dejected and forsaken cheer up for love always finds a way.  Just take your time to get over it and it will find you.  Till, just listen to this song and just grove with it cause it's one darn good song.

A Moment Of Joy A Life Time Of Regret: Careless Love By Bessie Smith

We have been taught time and time again to be careful who we give our love to.  Still there are some of us who let our emotions get the better of our judgement.  They also say that when this happens, you'll really regret it later.  When you've reached your limit, that when thing's get really nasty.  This is what learned while listening to Bessie Smith's cover of the song "Careless Love".

You really feel the emotion of regret from this song.  The central character sure got her ruined by choosing the wrong guy.  Each lyric deeply describes how her life was ruined and how angry she was at choosing this bum who is making her miserable.  Still she blames no one but herself since she made the choice.  Well, that's what happen when you're quick to think that it's love when it wasn't.

I remember some say something about a moment of happiness followed by a life time of regret.  Well that happens when you make the wrong choice.  Even in love, you still have to use your head. You be realistic about things especially when it's obvious to everyone else.  If not, you might wind singing this song day and night and that isn't cool.

Save For The Right Person: Save It For A Rainy Day By Stephen Bishop

Even if February 14th is over, people are still out there looking for love.  It's surprising in some cases that someone thinks he finds the one only to leave after a certain period.  I guess they thought it was  the one at the time only to be wrong.  They need to be careful before giving their heart away impulsively.  When I listen to Stephen Bishop's song "Save It For A Rainy Day", it should remind us not to do that.

There's nothing wrong if you get smitten by pretty face because it does make a first impression.  However, there's more to it than that.  Trying to win against your competitors is just the start.  You really have to know that person inside out by know both the good and bad sides of that person before you commit.  It you are okay with what you've seen and if  that person also accepts you for who you are then I guest that person's the one.

A lot of people tend to rush things these days.  Other times, they care about the good times and when that's over so is the relationship.  So save yourself the grief and take it one step at a time.  Don't just give yourself away cause you might  regret it.  Take your time and if you're a 100% sure, then that person is the right one to give your heart to.

Someone To Run To: I'd Really Like To See You tonight By England Dan And John Ford Coley

For some reason, lately I keep hearing my obnoxious friend's nagging about getting hitched in my head. I still stand firm on staying single because I'm not in a position to go steady with someone nor am I interested.  That said there are times when we have an urge to see someone special.  Especially when it's someone special that you've haven't seen in a long time.  That kind of feeling reminds me of the song "I'd Really Like To See you Tonight" by England Dan And John Ford Coley.

We do we feel that way?  I guess it's because these people hold a special in our hearts and that's why we can't forget.  Maybe it's because we spent our best times with that person.  Or maybe because they're the people we runt to when we need relief from all the pressure that we get from life.  No matter what the reason, we better a spending sometime with that special someone.

That's doesn't mean that we should use them as the "run-to-guys" nor we abuse their generosity and kindness.  Still, when times are tough, there's none better to go.  I guess I feel a little down lately and some of the love in this month's been trying to tug at me.  Sadly, there's there's no such person to run to.  If there was and if I had the means, yes I'd see her.

It Sure Is Sad When That Happens: When Love Breaks Down By Prefab Sprout

If you read in a news article that a pair well-known celebrities got married, people would give a cheer for news like that was only possible in fairy tails. Just when you think, it'll last forever, another article would come out that they've called it quits and are now filing for the divorce or annulment.  It sure is sad to hear such a thing happened but when it's not meant to be, it's not meant to be.  The things is there's rise in the number of break-ups and that makes me wonder if it's worth going into a relationship let alone tying the knot.  When I feel sad about break-ups, it reminds me of the song "When Love Breaks Down" by Prefab Sprout.

As I've mentioned in a previous post, I've found out from my obnoxious classmate that there have been a lot of break-ups even among my high school alumni.  It seems the reality of separation is really on the rise in this country.  There are several reasons why break-ups happen and even the number of years spent in marriage doesn't assure that it would last forever.  You can be married for half a century and still break-up these days. I guess nothing's sacred anymore.

Sometimes I wonder if they really knew each other or knew what they were getting into in the first place.  These days people would break up just because they can't agree on what to watch on television.  Love and devotion just doesn't cut it anymore.  Have we really become so self-centered and practical that we would just break it off when we feel like it?  Whatever the reason, it's still sad to see love break-down because when there's no love, it's nothing.

Well That's What Love Does: Love Changes Everything By Honeymoon Suite

I remember when the gang was all together, the only we cared about was partying and having lots of fun.  I guess when you're young that was all you needed.  But as we got older things started to change.  This was especially true when they got hitched and I started seeing less and less of them as some were now family men or enjoying martial bliss with the person they loved.  I guess things really change when love enters the picture.  It's just like that song "Love Changes Everything" by Honeymoon Suite.

When a person's in love, the signs start showing.  He or she may be spending more time with someone rather than the gang.  Apart from that, he does that he would never do.  More importantly, his priorities have now shifted and before you know it, he's hitched.  After a while, he may spend some time and do the thing you use to do with him.  The only difference is he isn't as wild as he used to be and those gimmicks will know happens once in a full moon.

Still, despite the change, that person is happy and wouldn't trade it for anything else.  Sure it's sad that the party days are over but that his choice.  The best we can do is be happy for him and wish him well on his new life.  It's what he wants and we should respect that.  I guess how love changes everything.

Don't Play This When You Just Got Dumped: If You Leave Me Now By Chicago

A remember a scene from the movie 'Shaun Of The Dead" after his girlfriend Liz dumped him after botching up their dinner plans.  He retreated to the Winchester Pub with his pal Ed and was crying over the break-up.  Ed tried to cheer him up by playing a song on the jukebox.  But once it played, it only Shaun more sad.  The song that Ed play was "If You Leave Me Now" by Chicago.

I really like this song because it was one of the songs of Chicago I listened to when I was a kid.  However, for obvious reasons, it;s NOT the appropriate song for a person had just broken up with his or her love one.  Hearing this after breaking up will definitely make you feel a heck of a lot worse.  The last thing you need is more salt on a fresh wound.  That's definitely adding insult to injury.

Well, it's getting late and Valentine's Day is almost at an end.  Still, like Christmas (and I really bad one) people will probably still think of romance till the end of the month.  Sadly, I'm not surprised if somebody out there just got dumped.  For those who know people who are going through that, do your best to cheer them up.  Just don't play this song while they're still grieving cause it'll definitely make them feel worse even if it is a great song.

For Those Who Got Dumped: Love Don't Live Here Anymore By Rose Royce

Yesterday was the big day for all those romantics out there. That day of course was Valentine's Day.  Though it came on a Thursday, people still came out with their soul mate or their potential partner for a night of romance.  Still, not everyone was fortunate because if there are winners, there are also those who were dumped.  For those who got dumped, one sad song that bests describes the feeling is "Love Don't Live Here Anymore" by Rolls Royce.

I'm not surprised if there were those who were not so lucky.  Two's company but three's a crowd and on Valentine's Day, that's very true.  It's a sad fact about love that when someone win's, someone else loses.  These are the people you see feeling alone and dejected who now want to be alone.  It's obvious because they need some time to accept it before getting over it.

Well for those who lost out, there's still plenty of fish in the sea.  You just have to be patient to get a good catch.  Don't shut the doors yet but just put a vacancy sign there.  For now love don't live there and that's natural when you get rejected.  Still, if you really try that special someone is out there so just relax and start over when you've gotten past it.

To The Ones That Got Away: Mandy By Barry Manilow

Well the big day and when it comes let the games begin.  Today is Valentine's Day as flower shops and candy stores will probably make a killing when as people will buy roses and chocolates for the ones they wish to confess their feelings to.  There those who already have a special someone in their lives and some of them unfortunately take them for granted.  This is because they didn't know what they had till that person leaves them.  I get reminded of that lesson whenever I hear the song "Mandy" by Barry Manilow.

This was on MTV's greatest love songs lists and it comes to know surprise as it still makes listeners cry whenever they hear it.  It doesn't have to be someone named Mandy as it could be anyone we once knew and loved at one point in our lives.  Someone who accepted us for who we were and gave their all for us.  Unfortunately, we just took them for granted until the day they weren't there anymore and then we feel the loneliness followed by the regret of what we had and lost.  Love like that doesn't come everyday and when we're left alone, we realize our mistake too late.

For those who find their soul mate, never let them go.  Reciprocate every kind act that they give and be happy that they are there with you.  Don't ever let them go cause if you do, you'll regret with the rest of your life.  Even if you hook with someone else, it's not the same and the fact that you think of them everyday is proof of that so when you find him or her don't let them get away.

That's How Long We Want It To Last: Forever By Christopher Cross And Frances Rufelle

Well for all you romantics out there, Valentine's Day is just 48 hours away. On that day, those who are single will try to find their significant other while those who have will probably celebrate in some romantic spot in the City.  Whether you're single or hitched, there's one thing that you hope once you've found the one.  Quite simply is that it would last forever.  That's the reason why I'm using the song "Forever" by Christopher Cross an Frances Ruffelle.

Even though I'm not interested, I do believe that we all agree that that's what we want when we get hitched.  That's why we are very choosy when it comes to choosing the one we want to spend our life with.  Someone who supports us and we support them.  Someone we can confide to and feel comfortable with. More importantly someone we can share our life with in both the good times and bad until the end of time.

You know it's sad that relationships don't last long anymore.  This days it's more like until the good times end rather than till death do us part.  It's sad to think that nobody wants it to last forever.  I guess that's why I'm glad there are some people out there who are careful with their choices because they want it to last that long.  We all do.

You Gotta Be Careful: Love Roulette By Don Johnson

As I've said before, love doesn't happen in a flash.  Though you shouldn't be passive, rushing is not the either.  You have to know when you should and shouldn't do things.  One wrong and you're going to get dumped again.  I got that thought from listening to the song "Love Roulette" by Don Johnson.

This was taken from his "Heart Beat" album back in the 80's when he was at the top of his career.  I have to admit there are a lot of truths in this song, especially in the "one wrong move" part.  A lot of us want to feel loved again especially after a break-up.  Still just because you've found someone doesn't mean that person is automatically yours.  Remember to learn from your mistakes or else you'll wind up getting dump again and your broken to a million pieces.

Yeah falling in love can send you flying to the heavens but one mistake can cause you come crashing down to  earth.  Like I said earlier, remember what you did wrong.  Falling in love is like walking through a mind field. if you make one false move and kaboom.  Still if you do all the right moves or play your cards, right things might look up and you win that person's heart.  Just remember: trend carefully and good luck.

Classic Love/Nostalgia Song I Never Forgot: Yesterday's Song By Neil Diamond

I remember a film called "California Dolls" that starred  Peter Falk as a manager of a pair of tag-team female wrestlers. I wanted to watch the film but I was too young. I did remember the soundtrack of the film.  It used to be played everyday back then.  The song was called "Yesterday's Song" by Neil Diamond.

This song can be both a love song and a song about nostalgia.  It takes me way back to the times when things were simple yet great. It's also a good love song and no matter how eloquent a person is, when it comes to winning hearts, nothing beats saying "I Love You".  Like I said in my previous post, just when and where to say it for it to work.  I guess the fact that I remember this song means it mus be good I wouldn't listen to again and again if it wasn't.

I wish we had more songs like these today.  Simple but real cool to listen and relaxing as well. Nothing fancy but the lyrics speak for itself.  Well now that Valentine's Day is pretty close, I bet everyone will be saying to their special someone. Well one thing's for sure, Valentine's or nostalgia, this is one good song to listen to.

For Those Who Still Can't Get Over It Or Won't Give: Still Loving You By The Scorpions

They say it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.  There are those however, who don't subscribe to that. They really can't get over the person that  they cared about or refuse to give up the fight.  I guess that's how strong their feelings are it remains burning inside them.  People who feel that way remind me of the song "Still Loving You" by The Scorpions.

It really hurts when you lose out in love.  There are those who really can't get over that kind of loss.  Feeling is so strong that there those who would not love again after that.  There are also those who are in a no-win situation when it comes to love.  Still, no matter how hard it takes they'll keep trying till they succeed.  Well to those guys, I say good luck.

It's hard trying to win someone's heart. It's also hard to get over a relationship once it's over.  This is true when you worked so hard and loved so much just to make it work.  I guess some things just don't last or are not meant to be.  In the end, what will be will be so we have to live with it.

More Like Infatuation: Crazy Love By Poco

A lot of times, we someone who catches our eyes and in this month, there's going to be a lot of eye-catching.     Some call it love at first sight but when they are now out of your sights will say that's still love?  Maybe it's just the impulse that's acting up. In other words, it's just infatuation.  When I think of the crazy impulses people get when they see a looker, the song "Crazy Love" by Poco comes to mind.

It can't be helped I guess.  When we a beautiful face, who couldn't going overboard.  You start acting impulsively yet you don't even know that person.  In the end, it's only by getting to know that person will you find if you were right or just infatuated.  Other than that, it's a pretty face and nothing else.

For me, I have to know the person. Strike up a conversation and see if I'm comfortable in that person's company.  Only then will I know if it's the real thing or not.  It's the real thing when you accept both that person's virtues and faults.  Anything else is impulsive behavior that's just good for the moment.  That's not love but just infatuation.

Things One Would Rather Not See: I'd Rather Go Blind By Etta James

Just because you're head over heels over someone doesn't mean that person is already yours.  This is especially true when you're the type of person who worships someone from afar.  You do that and that's all you're going to get.  It even gets worse when you see that special someone in the arms of someone else.  When I think about situations like that, the song "I'd Rather Go Blind" by Etta James comes to mind.

Love is a very competitive game.  You can't  win that person's heart by being timid.  If you have to step your game up and try to get to know that person.  You have to keep in mind that if you like that person, there are others who like him or her as well and they will do all that they can to win that person.  Stay timid and the next thing you'll be seeing is that person walking away with someone else and that's a bummer.

It's easy to say that you'd rather go blind.  Instead of doing that, you should go for it with all that you've got.  Nobody likes loosing out especially when it comes to love.  So if you don't what to see something like that, go for it.  It's a better choice than going blind.

Men And Love: How Men Are By Aztec Camera

Whenever the subject of L-O-V-E comes up, most of the time, it revolves around women.  I guess because when it comes to men, we tend to not talk about it since it would too feminine a topic if we discuss.  Whenever we do, we tend to have few brews just to loosen up and talk about it.  There are times however, when a woman's persuasion will finally get us to talk about it.  When it comes to how men feel about the L-O-V-E topic, the song "How Men Are" by Aztec Camera comes to mind.

How do men feel when it comes to that?  It depends for some who nailed the jackpot, it's the best thing to ever happen to them while others who are not so lucky would even go to extremes as to never love again to avoid the hurt.  There are also who are afraid of it and are just content to have to have love of friends and family.  Others don't want to go into it because they either treasure their freedom or afraid of being controlled.I guess we guys have our own reasons and view points on the subject just like women.

Whatever the reasons, don't let it get to the point to where tears are shed.  That means you have to make it clear whether you want her or not.  Whatever the choice, don't let her cry.  As for me, you guys will have to which of the following reasons will I fall into.  If you've read my posts in the past, I guess you'll know.

Make Sure You Mean It When You Say It: Shooting From The Heart By Cliff Richard

In the month of February, the one sentence you'll always hear is "I Love You".  This is because in February, we celebrate Valentine's Day and if that's what people want to hear from their significant other.  For those who are still in the courting stage, saying is is not that easy.  They need to make sure that it hits the spot so that it won't be said in vain. When it comes to saying it, the song "Shooting From The Heart" by Cliff Richards comes to mind.

The problem is the how and when to say it.  Apart from that you have all those other suitors to compete with.  You have to say it in such a way that that person would believe.  You have to do it calmly but confidently and it would also help if you say it a place where she likes going to or feels happy.  Whether she accepts or rejects depends on how you deliver it so be very careful.

Well, I have no use for that sentence except when caring for my family.  I know how people will say it when the day comes but don't rush it.  You might lose that girl if you.  Just remember to say it like you mean it.  That way, it'll reach the heart which is what you're aiming for.

For Those Who Found Their Soul Mate: I Was Born To Love You By Freddie Mercury

Though I haven't been hit by Cupid's arrows in a while (Thank Goodness), I've known the feeling of being attracted to someone.  Though Valentine's Day is still next week, love is already in the air as everybody else are already making preparations for that special day also known as "Christmas Of The Hearts".  While some are going to do their best to find their soul mate, there are the lucky ones already have.  They are so happy that nothing else matters and they're on a natural high.  For those who are overjoyed at finding the one for them, the song "I Was Born To Love You" by Freddie Mercury bests suits them.

This is one of my favorite videos by Freddie back in the day.  I guess it's because of the high notes that he hits on this song as well as the upbeat video where I believe he gave his best performance.  The way he sang and performed there could lift anybody's spirits up.  The way he chased after that girl really reflects the happiness one feels when he or she finds the one.  It was one of the most positive songs and videos that I have seen and I still enjoy every time I watch it at You Tube.

I wish I could hear songs like this again.  Freddie was a great singer as well as a great showman who would surprise not shock and get anyone to like his music regardless of what their orientation was.  For anyone who's happily living with his or her soul mate, this song is for you.  If  you're doing the same thing that Freddie was doing with that girl in the video, this one's for you.

You're Wasting Your Arrows: Stupid Cupid By Neil Sadaka

I was wasn't able to return the miscall of my obnoxious batchmate last week and I'm not sure I want to.  The memory of him forcing me to go out with another his so-called "friends" is not on my priorities right now.  If he likes living the way that he is now well then my friend I am happy for you.  Just don't play Cupid on me.  This is the reason why I chose Neil Sedaka's song "Stupid Cupid" for this post.

As I've said before, though there are some women out there who catch my fancy, I'm not interested in getting  into a relationship, let alone getting hitched.  Believe or not I'm content with my life despite the many headaches that it throws at me from time to time.  Apart that, there are so many things that I need to sort out.  Some people think that I'm overdoing it, but until I resolve this things, I don't I'll be a suitable mate for any gal.  I know the whites are starting to appear on head and face but if that's not what I want then I won't bite. Whether I regret it in the end is up to me for it's my life and I'll live the way I want to.

People tell me that I'm going to be lonely later.  What's going to be more lonely is when I'm in a situation that I don't want to be in.  It wouldn't be fair to me and to that girl if I went into relationship that if it's not what I want.   That's why I will tell my friend if he bugs me again that you're wasting your time.  Save your arrows for someone else.

If Cupid Had A Gun: Love Gun By Kiss

A few weeks ago, I was blogging about how people were shedding their nice guy-next door image these days in favor of a more edgy and aggressive look.  It seems to me, the mean look is getting appeal these days.  Just a few days ago, I watched a a preview of a Grimm's fairy tail getting a more aggressive make-over.  Just makes wonder if people were to give Cupid a makeover in this day age, he'd probably be carrying something that packed more punch than just a bow and a heart-edged arrow.  When that thought crossed me, it reminded me of Kiss's song "Love Gun".

if they were to redo Cupid, I shudder to think of what the changes would be like.  Gone would be the cute cherubin floating in the air with the toy bow and arrows spreading to the lonely heart. They would probably dress him up as a juvenile delinquent with a large gun and belt load of bullets. Oh he'd still be hunting for the lonely at heart.  My concern is if what he'd be firing will filled with love or something that people thought was love.

Well, I'm not one for the cute things and Valentines is not my cup of tea.  Still, I'm a traditionalist at heart and it pains me that there so many make-overs that bring out the dark side of things.  Are we so tired of clean cut things that we opted for the more aggressive nature because it's appealing?  Well, I'll leave it at that for now. Still, like I said earlier, that thought shudders me if we gave Cupid a gun and such a make-over like that.

Being More Careful The Second Time Around: Fall In Love Again By Eddie Money

Eddie Money was always one of my favorite singers when I was growing up in the 80's.  He always sang from the heart and his song's were about the things we can all relate to.  I thought I'd use one of his songs for this post to start off this month of hearts which is February.  Eddie had his share of great love songs and they can give today's songs a run for their money.  For this post, I chose the song "Fall In Love Again".

With love in the air again, I bet every lonely guy or gal has their eyes set on landing a soul mate.  A lot of these people have had their hearts broken in the past but have are still searching for that special somebody with whom they can share their lives with.  As much as possible, they don't want to make the same mistake again.  This is for the obvious reasons that they don't want to feel the hurt of being rejected again.

Well, for me, I'm happy being single right now even if my obnoxious batchmate keeps egging me to get hitched.  For those who are going to go at it and play the game again, just remember what you did wrong back then.  It'll save you some grief  when you go at it again.  Also be honest if it's worth it and if it's what you really, really want.  Well for those who want to fall again, good luck with your search and may you find the one.

Lot Of Break-ups" The Thrill Is Gone By B.B. King

A few weeks ago, I bumped into an old high school buddy of mine while I was at the mall trying to get home.  We sat down for a while talked about good times and how our classmates are doing. I was surprised when he told me that a lot of our classmates who got married have called it quits.  It wasn't just alumni from my old high school but lately I've been hearing news about people breaking up and it struck that in a country where people who feel strongly about marriage, it was sad surprise to hear that this is happening.  I guess it's like that B.B. King song called "The Thrill Is Gone".

It seems the modern concept of relationships has hit our shores.  No longer are people willing to stay together through good times and bad and  when the good times are gone, that's when they go their separate ways.  They argue that they're either being practical or realistic.  If they were being realistic, they should've known each other more before tying the knot.  Sadly, nothing's sacred anymore and and people aren't willing to go to distance just to stay together.

People still keep asking me the same old question "Why do you get married?!"  After hearing that, I don't think I want to.  I may be single but when it comes to tying the knot, I'm old school.  It's about being with each other till death do us part.  It's only when the thrill is gone, only then can you say it's real when they're stand by each other.  Sadly shallow marriages are on the rise and so are the break-ups and that kind of relationship I really don't want to be in.
