How Money Affects The World: Big Money By Rush

A long time ago, our country was one of the most prosperous economies in Southeast Asia. These days it's a whole different story as people are already struggling with the economic problems locally now need to deal with added problems brought about by the global economic crisis. Everybody's feeling the burn and have to find ways to ride the present hardships. Looking at all that is going on both here and abroad, one thing that is obvious the effect that when there's no money, everything comes to a halt. I guess I can now understand what the song "Big Money' by Rush finally means.

Whoever said that money makes the world go round, is right in a sense that it fuels economic activity. With it, business grow which leads to prosperity resulting to higher standards of living. Unfortunately, there those who took on more than they can handle and worse, there were the scam artist who used people's saving for their own selfish interest which led to an economic collapse all over the world. Now companies are closing and a lot of people are losing their jobs while fresh graduates find very little opportunity for work and the domino effect goes on. Even though it's obvious that this has happened, a part of me still can't believe it because if only those corporate bosses were more responsible with the people's income, this would not have happened.

Those the news say that there are signs that the economy is improving, I still haven't felt it and a lot of people feel the same way. I hope that when the economy finally gets back on track, people would learn from this very bad experience. I'm not a very materialistic person but I hope to see the day when everyone can afford their own house, car with having a big hole in their savings. I also wish that one day, people would earn enough that they can live on their salaries even if it is minimum wage. I still believe in the capitalist system because it shows what people can do with a good idea and a lot of hard work. I just wish people would be more responsible with our savings when that happens because in this world, it's all about the money we need to show it inorder to make it through the day.
