Right about now, kids are now hitting the books for their last quarter finals. After that, it's time to break out the sun bloc and party all day and all night long. When I look at the youth having fun, I really get sentimental because their at that point in life where they can do anything that they want. It is only right that they live their youth to the fullest by doing all that they can do and be all that they can be. They're only young once so they better live it up while they can. Getting the most out of your life especially during your youth reminds me of the song "I Don't Want To Wait" by Paula Cole.
It's only natural for you to want to see and experience everything when you're young. At that point in your life, the world is so big and you want to break out of your shell and know what's going on out there. You make the most of what you got and plunge on in with no hesititation. Whether it's going out to a favorite hangout or learning a craft or a skill, meeting new people, it's not just about enjoying because what kids experience in their time will determine who they will fare in the real world when the time comes. If they are fulfilled in their youth, they can do anything when the time comes.
There will come a time when the world will shrink and responsibility comes crawling. That's when the time comes for the youth to become an adult. Time to stand on your own two feet and know what comes first. I guess that's why that passage from Ecclesiastes that Oliver Stone used for the opening of the movie "Platoon" really stuck to my head. Do all that you can while you're young because it gets difficult when you're older and I'm definitely feeling it now.
