Wondering If One Is Superstitious: Superstition By Stevie Wonder

One negative effect about having to deal with every pile of crap that's thrown at you is that you start thinking if someone's out to get you. It gets to a point where you start to feel that every action you take might have adverse effects on you or people close to you. You become so self-conscious, you start thinking that that there's trouble everywhere and you get worried to the point that take any precaution to ensure that things will be okay, even if people start thinking you're weird or superstitious in the process. Getting the feeling that one is becoming superstitious reminds me of Stevie Wonder's song "Supertition".

It starts when bad things happen one after another and you start getting desperate on how to stop this. You try any kind of method no matter how eccentric just to ensure that things won't go wrong. it gets to a point where you don't even want to break from your routine because doing so might bring in something bad. Sometimes a call from home or news about a relative is enough to fill one with dreadful curiosity. When that sets in, you need to stop and start assessing your behavior before you do get crazy.

I guess to get over that you have to face the world and be prepared as best as you can. There are just things that happened that can hit you very hard even you do all that you can prepare for the world. In the end, there are some things we can't control and bad things happen. It's just a matter of dealing with them in the end. Sometimes it's kinda hard but if we let our superstitions control us, we might as well be living in a box which is something I don't want to do.
