Art Of Negotiating And Convincing Difficult People: Charm The Snake By Christopher Cross

What Do successful businessmen, martial arts masters, military strategists, psychologist, psychiatrist and negotiators have in common? They know what to say and what do to get things done even in the most difficult situations. These days people like that are valued in times of crisis when dealing with particularly difficult people. How they do it will always be a mystery? One thing for sure, they know what to say and when they do say it, you can sure that you're home free. When it comes to reasoning with difficult people, let alone navigating through very treacherous territory, the song "Charm The Snake" by Christopher Cross comes to mind.

I've always admired people who have been successful by being able to convince people to buy or invest in a product or property. It takes a lot of guts to be able to do that It also amazes me how fast their mind works when they have to answer a ton of rebuttals and how they maneuver themselves to point where they control the situation. That's a talent that very few people possess and institutions that are lucky to find such people value them highly. Smart and aggressive guys like that are hard to find.

I do wish I had that talent because I was always a shy and passive person. Seeing people like that though has taught me to that you have to have a certain aggressiveness that convince through charm not by force. That way, not only do these stubborn buy into the idea but they keep coming back for more. I too hope to learn that method. There are a lot of snakes out there. You have to have the right charm to win them over.
