When The Glory Days Are You Have Left: Last Of The Singing Cowboys By Marshall Tucker Band

I know it's monotonous but when 24K rolls along, the past comes alive and the glory days are remembered when there was always something cool happening everyday and you each moment to the fullest. Back then, everything was a blast and the gang was always there whenever you look back. However, the past is past and if old glory days are all you have left, man, that's sad. Song "Last Of The Singing Cowboys" by The Marshal Tucker Band.

This is one of those rare songs that only 24K plays. It tells the tale of an old cowboy who was also a washed-up celebrity way back when. As the narrator entered the bar, the cowboy told him stories of the gold old days and even sang for him. I wouldn't be surprised if if his face lit as the tale unfolded. Later on when he was shown to the door, the narrator found out that he was blind and he, the bartender and the waitress were the only audience of his performance. I guess he was lost in the past trying relive his glory days to whoever would listen.

A lot of times, I've seen people who fell on hard times after living the good life. Some are still happy even if those days are gone while others cling to to the good times cause that's all they have left. Sometimes a good listener and a good drink is all that they ask. That's the way only past comes alive again for these people. Reliving the past is good but he also live for today and try to move on. What's done is done so we better concentrate on the here and now if we want the good times to keep rolling.
