Expect No Mercy: No Quarter By Led Zeppelin

When you march off into battle, never forget these words: "No quarter will be asked and none will be given." Simply put, If you're prepared to unleash terror, be ready to absorb terror in return. If ever your opponent gets the upper hand and you find yourself getting whipped, the one thing you should never do is to give him the satisfaction. In short, don't beg for mercy. When it comes to not expecting mercy or giving mercy in a fight, Led Zeppelin's song "No Quarter" seems appropriate for this post.

When you enter into the arena, it's easy to get pumped up, since the pain hasn't been felt yet. However, expecting pain and receiving it can be two different things as you find yourself either getting overwhelmed or just shutting down from the barrage of your enemies attacks. Still, your pride and dignity's at stake. If you have the will, you keep on fighting even if the cause is now lost. If you ask, let alone beg for quarter now, not only did you lose the fight but your honor as well.

I guess that's why they say that true fighters lay it all on the line. The one that separates a true fighter from a wanna-be is that he's prepared to take it as well. The only way he'll yield is if he's either knocked out cold or his opponent will stop cause there's nothing left to beat since he's so pummeled as it is. I guess it's because I too subscribe to going in blaze of glory when all is lost. It's better than begging for quarter.
