Still Trying To Break This Cycle: The Breaking The Chains By Dokken

You know it's a real downer every time you try to build something only to have it fall apart. It feels even worse when you realize that the way it fell apart is similar to events that happened in the past that had the same results. You start think that this keeps happening again and again like a vicious cycle. The thought of that really irks me and I really want it to stop. This vicious cycle that I want to break reminds me of the song "Breaking The Chains" by Dokken.

It always starts out great then something happens and before you know it, you're down in the dumps. For it to happen once is bad enough but for the same thing to happen again and again is more than coincidence. It hurts even more when you're starting over cause the last thing that you want is to have more pain than you already have. It makes you wonder if your fate to always lose and to be left broken down and miserable. The painful thing to be dealt with.

Personally I find that insulting cause I still believe that there's something out there and that we have the power to change our situation and grab it. It's not going to be easy but it's better than just die everyday from that pain of lost by being trapped by its chains of misery. Even if I'm a bit stubborn, I still want something better and I'm trying hard to avoid the things that caused the fallout. It's tough to break the chains but the payoff is worth it.

Makes Me Want To Speed Down The Highway When I Drive: Easy Driver By Kenny Loggins

The thing I like best about the 24K songs is that it gets you motivated to get things done. If not, it's just great songs to listen to just to make you feel good. Apart from relaxing in my room, I like listening to these tunes when I'm driving down the highway. Makes me want to step up the gas and just speed on down the road. One of my favorite songs that I like listening to when driving is Kenny Loggin's song "Easy Driver".

This is one of those catchy tunes that really gets you when it starts to play. You can already feel the energy spreading all you from the very start. It's gets better when you're behind the wheel and there's no traffic. I'm no speedster but when this song plays I really go fast and sing along. It's just so full of energy that I really cruise down the highway.

Man, why can't we have more songs like these anymore. All we get are tunes about whiners who don't man up and clean their mess. I can't connect with it anymore. So when these songs start to play, you can bet my ears are glued to the airwaves. It just can't be beat and that's a fact!

Reminds Me Of My Early Days In The Real World: Dyslexic Heart By Paul Westerberg

I really am getting so old these days. The fact that the white hairs on my beard are getting more prominent is a sad fact of that. Apart from faciamil hair, even sideburns are starting to show some strands of white. I'm starting to long for the early years after I graduated from college when I had enough money for weekend gimmicks and life was just starting. Longing for those days reminds me of the song "Dyslexic Heart" by Paul Westerberg.

This was part of the soundtrack from the movie "Singles" which depicted the lives and loves of young adults who are just about to make their way into the real world. You were excited and free to try new things on your own and being single, you'd to check to spots with your pals and party hard all night. The difference was that you were doing it on your own steam without having to ask from your parents since you were making your own money. Since you were already old enough, there were no more restrictions on what you wanted to do and where you wanted to go. It was pure freedom at its best.

These days, you go out after you make sure that all the business is settled. There are now more responsibilities to take care of and very little time for leisure. Priorities come before gimmicks since you have to be careful how to budget what you have. Oh well, at least we all had a taste of the good times. We could re-live but we're now getting older.

To My Girl Buddy: Good Friend By Mary MacGregor

Yesterday started off badly as the storm intensified and I had to walk in the rain again. Though I had a jacket and umbrella. there were some parts of my clothes that got wet. Apart from that, the storm intensified and we were all worried that it might flood the roads. Then out of the blue, my old girl buddy dropped by for a visit and we had a short chat about how we were doing and how the guys in Quezon City were faring. Though it was only for a few minutes, I felt seeing and talking to her because for some reason she always lifts me up when I'm down. When I think of her, the song "Good Friend" by Mary MacGregor comes to mind.

I remember they use to show this on Channel 2 back in the 70's when there were was a lack of programs to watch. I have to admit, it's a guilty pleasure to listen to. Anyway whenever she's there, it brightens my day even when the storm is at its height. I miss the good old days when we use to call each often and she did give good advice. I never forget the goods that she did for me and she did without asking for anything in return which is why I value her friendship.

I don't anything from her anymore for she's done enough for me. The fact that we still keep in touch is something that I am very grateful for. I'm glad that she's doing all right cause she deserves all the blessings that God has bestowed to her. I just hope that our friend would last forever for she's one in a million. She really is a good friend and I'm blessed to her friend.

Put Your Best Foot Forward: Dress For Success By Roxxette

Well there's a lot of pressure on us lately and even when we finish something, here comes another. A situation like that can really wear a person out. Still, if there's something that has to be done, Even when you're weary, do your best and get it done. Doing your best reminds of the song "Dressed For Success" by Roxxette.

I almost forgot what I said before that even when you're tired, never leave a job undone. It's like working out when you feel lazy then you find some kind of motivation. Once you get it, then hop to it. Also, make sure to do what you do as best as you can. At least no one can say that you didn't do your job.

I guess that's why I go straight to work when something is assigned to me. The more you let it wait, the tougher it gets. Also it makes you look bad and that's one thing that I don't want on my reputation. Do your best and show your best is the way. So when something gets assigned to you, do it and do it good.

Be Grateful You Still Have A Job And Work Harder To Make Ends Meet: Working For Huey Lewis

I remember a scene in the movie "Gridlock" where Tom Roth's character was asking for directions and the man brushed him off saying he had no change. Roth's character was angered by that remark and yelled back that he has job. He also added that there're a lot of people who don't have jobs and are having difficulty getting one. It reminds me that I am fortunate that I am working cause a lot of people aren't. That realization reminds me of the song "Working For A Living" by Huey Lewis And The News.

Life is so hard these days as all the good jobs are taken and your lucky if you can land one no matter how crappy it is. It's not just the money that you make but it also tells people that you are doing something with your life. There are times when what you make is not enough and that's where you go out of the box by doing something's on the side to make ends meet. Just be sure it's legal or else.

These days you do what you can at work as well any opportunity that comes by. If a better jobs comes by and you're hired then take it. Till then just hang in there and do what you can. Sometimes it's cool and sometimes it's aint. Just be grateful you still got a job.

What Takes To Be No. 1: No. 1 By Chaz Jankel

A lot of times, we all strive to be the best that we can be. If you got what it takes, then go for it. Just remember not to loose your soul in the process. The ambition to the top guy can a very ruthless game. When think about people who want to be the top guy, it reminds me of the song "No. 1" by Chaz Jankel.

This was the soundtrack for the movie "Real Genius". We all want to be the top guy that everyone admires and follows. The question is are you prepared to what it takes to get because you have to be willing to do things you thought you never could and disappoint or even hurt a lot of people in the process. Even when you reach the top, be ready to defend it cause there's going to be lot of guys who are as hungry as you are may even go beyond what you did to get that spot. Are you prepared for that.

This ruthless game's been going from generation to generation. It's not a nice guy's game and you're going to find that out the hard way. There's nothing wrong with striving to reach the top. Just be careful and keep your eyes open. Do your best to reach that spot. Just be careful that it doesn't bring out your worse.
