Don't Play This When You Just Got Dumped: If You Leave Me Now By Chicago

A remember a scene from the movie 'Shaun Of The Dead" after his girlfriend Liz dumped him after botching up their dinner plans.  He retreated to the Winchester Pub with his pal Ed and was crying over the break-up.  Ed tried to cheer him up by playing a song on the jukebox.  But once it played, it only Shaun more sad.  The song that Ed play was "If You Leave Me Now" by Chicago.

I really like this song because it was one of the songs of Chicago I listened to when I was a kid.  However, for obvious reasons, it;s NOT the appropriate song for a person had just broken up with his or her love one.  Hearing this after breaking up will definitely make you feel a heck of a lot worse.  The last thing you need is more salt on a fresh wound.  That's definitely adding insult to injury.

Well, it's getting late and Valentine's Day is almost at an end.  Still, like Christmas (and I really bad one) people will probably still think of romance till the end of the month.  Sadly, I'm not surprised if somebody out there just got dumped.  For those who know people who are going through that, do your best to cheer them up.  Just don't play this song while they're still grieving cause it'll definitely make them feel worse even if it is a great song.

And Still Searching: I've Been Searching So Long By Chicago

When you're young, you don't have to worry about anything.  With a lot of time in your hands and friends all around, life is simple and everything is there for you.  It's a different story when you start getting older.  As you grow, you start to wonder about a lot of things and you need to get those issues addressed if you want to have some peace of mind in the future.  The fact that I'm still searching for those answers to put the issues to rest reminds me of the song "I've Been Searching So Long" by Chicago.

You can say that this is a continuation of the post that I wrote a few years ago using the song "Searching" by Santana.  You know something wrong with your life when you still can't get over certain things from the past or that there was no closure let alone fulfillment. It gets worse when you're older and your dreams and plans fall apart and you'll be lucky if you can salvage what you can.  You feel incomplete and worst of all, you're living a life you hate.  I guess they say that's living in regret.

For those of you who are still young and just beginning, be honest with what you really want in life.  When you know what you want, don't be afraid to admit.  More importantly, go for it with all that you've got.  You won't regret because you're going for what you want.  It's better than living a life of regret.  Those questions can take a toll on you believe me.

Still Reminiscing About The Good Old Days: Old Days By Chicago

As I've said before, 24K Weekends (formerly 24K Friday) is the day when time stands still.  My ears are plugged on the radio as I wait for my requested tunes to play on air.  It's not just about hearing music that people have long since forgotten but also remembering the good times that happened when they were still on the air. It takes me back to those days as if they are happening right now.  A good to remember the old days is the song "Old Days" by Chicago.

When the music plays, it all comes back to life.  The times when you're laughing with your friends about the jokes and stories that they tell.  Going around the mall to watch a movie or play a few coin-operated games till you had no money.  Best of all was on the weekends where you either went to your friends house for a few brews and partied till the sun came up.  Back then, you thought those days would never end.

Today as I've always blogged is a different story.  Bills to pay and deadlines to catch are things that occupy my mind everyday of the week.  True, today we have the internet, smartphones, Ipods, Ipads and a host of other gadgets.  Still, I would give all away to go back in time just to relive the good times that I had with people who I care for.  Though there's no such thing as a time machine.  The old tunes are good enough to bring the old days back to life.

That Push To Get Me Through: 25 Or 6 To 4 By Chicago

Last night, I slept late and I think it's time I better break this habit because the lack of sleep is starting to catch up with me. Getting up is starting to require some extra effort. Times like that, a hot cup of coffee and a load 24K song is need to to get me wide awake. The song that may fit the bill is Chicago's "25 Or 6 To 4".

This is one way to blast a guy out of bed. It's bad enough that today is Monday and the first one of the month where I can feel a ton of work waiting for me at the office. Still, you got to do what you got to do to meet the day. Part of that requires your adrenalin to start pumping. Some coffee and this sure got that started.

Well, I'm finally home and beat tired. Still, I have sinking feeling there's still much to do. By the time it's over, it's way past my bed time. Still, I get whatever sleep I can. Another day is coming up and the week has just begun. I guess I'll play this song again to me pumped up to meet the day.

Ideal Stress-Free Weekend: Saturday In The Park By Chicago

Ah, life is so full of stress lately. I lost my purse full of change and right now I think I left my keys at the office which really bummed me out. Once again, my thoughts are drifting back to happier times when the weekend rolled in and you woke up at 9 or 10 in the morning. I'd take a stroll for a while and cap it off some Dairy Queen Ice Cream and a burger or whatever food tickled my palette. A little chill-out time does wonders for the soul which I sure miss. Missing that ideal quality time one would spend over the weekend reminds me of the song "Saturday In The Park" by Chicago.

This is one of those really cool "feel good" songs that is must have for busting stress. Whenever I remember of hear this song, I'm off to enjoy the weekend. After a good lunch, you watch the world go by and see people having fun and feel that rubbing off you. Pretty soon that feeling gets spread around and feeling good's good enough. When I've had my fill of the sites and the sounds, I head on home and ready to face the grind.

Despite all the stress that I feel, I know that these things will come to pass. Though it's been since I spent my weekends in this fashion, maybe one day I'll be able to do so again. Just a little time, patience and perseverance to get things in order which is my top priority right now. When that gets settled, then the good times are going to roll once more. I look forward to that day when everyday is like the Fourth of July or any kind of holiday for that matter.
