Never Know When It;ll Rain: Swerte-Swerte By Joel Navarro

Lately, the weather news reports that despite the fact that the typhoon is now out of the country, expect some scattered rain showers this week.  That comes as no surprise since it rains a lot during the last few months of the year.  What is surprising (though not a pleasant one) is when it will hit.  When you bring your rain gear, there's no rain and when you don't, it pours down till the streets flood.  You can't tell till it drops.  Trying to anticipate when the rain will fall reminds of the song "Swerte-Swerte" by Joel Navarro.

This is song is actually about a guy who scored with a girl when the rain came pouring.  Unfortunately, most of us aren't so lucky.  You wear your rain-proof coat and lug your umbrella but the sun is shining brightly and you wind going to work and going home feeling sweaty.  On the next day, you don't bring anything and you leave the office, the clouds open up and you're drenched from head to toe.  Mother Nature's jokes sure aren't funny, especially when you're working overtime and it's hard to catch a ride and even if you do have a ride, you'd be stuck in traffic as every vehicle is struggling to maneuver on the slippery road as the water level starts to rise.

That's why I make it a point to have an umbrella and jacket in the office if the clouds try something sneaky.  Funny, they say it's going to rain when it won't and vice-versa when they say it will be sunny.  Maybe its global warming or the high levels of pollution.  Still, everyday after summer, is a gamble to see whether it'll rain or not. You'll never know when it will rain.  It's all a matter of chance and preparation.
